Catalyst OrthoScience is a dynamic medical technology startup specializing in shoulder arthroplasty solutions. Catalyst products are purposefully designed to offer patients and surgeons a less invasive option for orthopedic surgery, clinically proven to promote faster healing, restore normal range of motion, and improve operational efficiency.
The Catalyst brand identity embodies innovation, precision, and efficiency. The team sought to reflect the cutting-edge, clinically validated nature of their products while instilling a sense of safety and trust. To achieve this, the brand's foundation is built on the color blue, a hue associated with calmness, stability, and security.
Visual elements from the Catalyst product catalog play a key role in the brand’s design. Textures such as the hole-punch pattern of their instrument trays, and the metallic finish and plasma spray coating on their implants are seamlessly integrated into the brand aesthetic.
The Catalyst logo further reinforces this identity with its negative space subtly mirroring the distinct ellipsoid shape of the company’s flagship product, creating a meaningful visual connection. Stacked and horizontal logo variations in both light and dark formats ensure versatility across different backgrounds. A combination of ample white space, a carefully curated color palette, modern typography, and product-inspired textures results in a brand that balances clean professionalism with forward-thinking scientific innovation.
